Paris Part 2

Well I would have blogged while I was in Paris but I just didn't have time! Annie and I made the most of every second. Some of which was spend tending to our horrendously sore feet after walking the length of Paris!

We arrived on the Monday, suitcases in hand and had to pace through the streets of Paris to find our apartment. The metro that we had to catch didn't seem to be there. Who knows maybe it was like Harry Potter. It was so warm! My feet were burning and I needed a drink of water. Even with all that we were so excited to get to our apartment and check it out that we powered on and finally reached it.

Wow! More than I could have asked for look at the view!

Ok the view is nothing to most but that is shops and lots of them. They were down every street we were right on a cross road. Every road led to more shops.

We spent day two sightseeing, catching in the parks, Rodin museum and lots lots more. To end the night we went to the Eiffel Tower in the evening. We got the Bato Bus from our end of the Seine - near Notre Dame and got to see all of the Seine all the way to the Eiffel Tower. it was beautiful and I was so pleased to finally say I had been there.

We even managed to ask a passing couple to get a picture of us with the Eiffel Tower in the background.

Day 3 was The Louvre day. we had got museum passes on day one when the queue at the museum we were at was short. It meant that we could jump the queues at any other museum and get straight in. It was great. we were in the louvre looking round the paintings in 10 minutes of arriving and most of that was spend trying to get down the escalator.

The afternoon of day 3 was shopping time. We had been looking at all the shops while walking to the sights and were more than ready to have a look around and treat ourselves. Annie had seen a dress in a window of a shop just down the street so we headed there to start and the tables turned. The dress Annie had fallen in love with just wasn't right but I fell in love with a collection in the shop and got talking to the sales assistant. it turned out she was the designer of the collection and was working int he shop to have her collection there. All the designers in the shop did the same thing. I couldn't help but treat myself to an item from the collection though given the money and the space in my case I would have taken the lot! Karine Jean. Her clothes are simple yet on trend. A very wearable collection with a mix of textures and patterns.

We had seen the parisians doing it so we couldn't resist. Day 3 night was spend was a bottle of wine by the Seine. Reviewing our trip and all that we had got up too. I couldn't have asked to go to Paris for the first time with anyone better. My cousin is not only a best friend she is also a great shopping pal and tour and art guide!

Day 4 was panic day. We needed to do all the things we hadn't fitted in. So it was shops, presents and crepes!

We got back the airport got our macaroons for our families and got to the flight on time! I never thought we would make it but we did!

It was knackering. But also the best trip of my life. What a great way to bring my 21st to an end.

Paris

I have always wanted to go to Paris. To see the sights, to eat the macaroons, to watch the people. Hat has to be on of my favourite past times. People watching, I think that is what I enjoyed the most about the idea development side of film making. The change to watch people and see how we all react differently to situations. I used to love sitting in the window of a coffee shop 2 minutes from my University that was on a busy shopping street. I would watch as people went by thinking about what their name cold be, where they lived, did they have children or a partner, one parent or two, what did they do for a living. It was fascinating. It's amazing how much you learn about yourself watching other people.

I'm off to Paris with my 2nd cousin. We have been friends as well as family since we were born, there is only two months age difference between us. We went to nursery together, school together we even moved to a different school and still stayed friends. I have a little sister I love to the moon and back, I would tell her anything but there is something nice about having someone you are really close too that is more than just a friend and that is at the same stage of life as you.

With that bond and our 21st birthdays just behind us we are heading to Paris to celebrate and have a break.

I am on the plane now. After a less than smooth trip through security - granted it could have been worse. We are in the air and off to Paris.

I don't think I have been as excited about a trip in my entire life. I hope the weather isn't as bad as it says it's going to be and we get some dry days to go out and explore with out coming home like drowned rats.

Fun In The Sun

I love nothing more than a good market full of hand crafted gifts and fantastic clothes and shoes. I could have spent all day looking at the food stalls and then all the hand crafted leather and wood gifts but after having a look about and getting a hand made olive wood pen that can also be a pencil for a friend of mine I was whisked away to get a taxi back to our villa. The summer has got off to a great start with my family and I going to Cala d'Or in Mallorca for a week. The sun was hot, the food yummy but the market was amazing.

Our villa was great! Couldn't have asked for more I wanted Wi-Fi so I could blog and Instagram and my sister wanted and big pool. We got both plus a lot more. We had a 3 bedroom Villa but why break tradition my sister and I shared a room so we could chat and giggle late into the night. I was the best room right enough, we had french doors that opened on to the breakfast table and pool. My mum was just pleased she didn't have to get up at 5am to put towels out to reserve seats at the pool.

We spend a week doing what my family do best - eating and drinking! but the best part was that we all got to relax for the first time in a while. We got to spend time together an have a laugh away from the stresses of home and work. The villa is up and way from the sea or any restaurants but only about a 5 minutes walk. It made all the difference though. Apart from the children in the villa next door it was quiet and peaceful. the perfect sun worshipping atmosphere. The marina within walking distance of the villa was great for a night time walk or a daytime walk.

A great week of sun, food and family! Nothing more you could ask for after working hard to complete uni.

The Start

I have decided to start this blog now that I am out of education and about to start my life for real. I never thought this day would come and whenever anyone said just wait until you are in the real world I assumed they were exaggerating but now it all feels a little too real. I am going to post everything I get up to here show my life and let you into a little bit of my real world.

I am writing this post from my bed after the best and yet most terrifying day of my life - my graduation day. I have been studying at The Royal Conservatoire of Scotland for three years to get a BA in Digital Film and Television. I have loved every moment and made great friends but today really was a day to end it all and get into the real world.

I really have had the the of my life today and even if I wasn't looking forward to it before I certainly won't be forgetting it for a long time. It is time to enjoy summer...
